I know, I know, I’ve gotten away from the frequent posts of old. Thankfully, I am actually excited to finish the countdown and move on to other pieces I have jammed into a notebook waiting to be posted. Will finish countdown hopefully by next weekend. Thanks.

Quick Pause
Just want to insert this quick piece then it’s back to the countdown.
An earlier post I wrote called The Way It Is outlined my stance on people commenting on what I write. I reserved that right for close friends and said that what I published wasn’t up for discussion.
I want to take that post back and say that anyone who wants to comment or give an opinion is 100% able and welcome to. I enjoy others reading my work and thank all who provide the record views I have so far this year (views from this January until today have eclipsed last year’s total already by over 60 views.) It is with this post that I make it clear that anyone who wants to share their comments or insight is welcome to.

Appologies
My appologies for the hiatus from the site. I had to rethink the top 7 and do some modifying, as some people truly had a greater impact than others, thus moving them up in rank. That being said, time to get back to it.

Back at it.
After such a long hiatus, I am returning to writing on here on a daily basis. I have been busy lately getting accommodated to a new school and moderate lifestyle change so writing has taken a back seat but I want to pick it back up. My first post will be upcoming in pieces and it marks a special entry for me, and perhaps the people mentioned in it.
In light of me turning 20 on January 31st, I figured it would be nice to write about the top 20, ranked from 20 to 1, most positively influential non-family members to ever affect my life. The countdown will begin at number 20 and each day I’ll add to it until I finish at number one. This will take up my writing for at least a little while, but this is the type of thing I enjoy writing about. And so it kicks off.

Dear Readers
I am writing this to all people out there who check up on my blog regardless of frequency. You may fall onto it and say to yourself “Wow, Rob doesn’t post very often.” Truth be told, I usually think of things to post then do it, although the last post was spontaneous. I do have works in progess so consider this a “Coming Attraction” post. The writings will increase, I can promise that. The pieces I plan to post in the next week will discuss past, present, and future things, to offer a little insight. So hold in there and thank you to all of you that read what I write.

Late, but oh well.
I haven’t posted anything in awhile but I have found a few topics to present. This one is a little late but who cares, it’ll do.
On June 17th, the Boston Celtics, my Boston Celtics, won the NBA title for the first time since 1986. I was not around at that time so unlike most sports writers who have been “waiting almost 22 years for this,” I had not witnessed a Celtics title victory in my lifetime. It really was enjoyable to watch though; I caught every minute of every playoff game this year, the first year that I accomplished that feat.
I became a fan of the Boston Celtics in 1995 so I have become knowledgeable of their history in that 13 years.
(Side note: I became a fan of many of my favorite teams by what could be referred to as accidental. My fanhood of the Denver Broncos came about when I got a tiny figurine of an NFL player for Christmas in my stocking one year, that figure was John Elway. I became a fan of Jeff Gordon in NASCAR by, essentially, being an idiot. I was watching the race with my dad in early 1997 and I saw this rainbow colored car keep being shown on the television. I had heard the announcers use the name Ricky Rudd so I pointed to that rainbow colored car and said to my dad, “I like that guy, Ricky Rudd.” Of course my dad, who was much more knowledgeable than I regarding the sport , had to correct me. “That is Jeff Gordon,” he told me. The Celtics were another accident. When I was about 6, my dad had a coffee cup with a leprechaun on it standing in a four leaf clover. That was the symbol for the Boston Celtics, so I adopted them as my favorite team and just ran with it.)
Back to this, I do know the history of the Celtics and the legacy that they uphold. All of the rivalries with the Lakers in the NBA Finals that were won by both sides, but mostly by the Celtics, I know of. I know most about the players and teams involved in the sport today and still there are things that surprise me. The biggest surprise to ever come up happened this year, and involved the Celtics.
My favorite team has always been the Boston Celtics, as I have stated above, but my favorite player has always been Kevin Garnett. In basketball video games I would use the Minnesota Timberwolves just so I could control Garnett. Well this season, in an ultimate moment of irony, my favorite team combined with my favorite player. Kevin Garnett was traded by the Timberwolves to the Boston Celtics for an unprecedented five players and two draft picks. And so the journey began.
With that being said, I am happy that both Garnett joined the Celtics and that they won the title. Now all I have to do is wait until next season begins to watch them play again.

My Welcome
I have just joined WordPress this morning, creating my blog shortly after. Although I haven’t decided on any one thing to post blogs on, I’ll just take it day by day. Sports activity will mostly be commented on, but I keep up with other news as well. That’s all for now.
